"Lichtbed", 2009-010
In collaboration with 51N4E Architecture and Julie Vandenbroucke
Macro textile upholstery concept and production for this 3 x 3 m bed, placed at the very center of the house. It forces every visitor to take a position as they enter. Its size makes it ambiguous: a oneman throne as much as a place for an indoor picnic for 10. The apparent over-scaled textile bed exposes underlying social relations and behavioural codes, hence becoming a mechanism stimulating use.
